About the role
The Clinical Pharmacist Responsible for supporting the delivery of
high-quality, innovative pharmacy support services for a leading
healthcare navigation company. Capitalizes on a unique blend of
pharmacy benefit, medication therapy, and project leadership
expertise to ensure the safe and effective use of medications for
our population of members.
What you'll do
- Clinical Support: Provide Pharmacy Services clinical support,
including:
- Collaborative, multidisciplinary decision-making for
medication-related utilization management
- Review complex disease states and dosages related to the
indicated use of prescribed medication therapy
- Review evidence-based criteria to support clinically-sound
education and recommendations to members and providers
- Perform comprehensive medication reviews, and document
interventions resulting in therapy optimization and cost
containment
- Utilize business intelligence tools to inform decision making
and report population specific savings
- Development/facilitation of staff education related to new drug
therapies, changes in existing therapies/indications, and
significant/relevant pharmaceutical industry updates
- Assistance with the interpretation and/or application of
pharmacy benefits for internal teams
- Serve as a content expert for identifying medication assistance
resources
- Program Management Support: Collaborate with the Pharmacy
Services team on program design, execution and effectiveness to
improve the experience of members.
- Provide leadership for enhancement of internal resources to
identity strategic medication therapy optimization
opportunities
- Continuously monitor population's medication-related outcomes,
and contribute to a refined strategy, as needed
- Develop and maintain processes that support program
objectives
- Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Educate and coach team members on how to resolve issues, when
appropriate
- Educate Pod members regarding Pharmacy operations identify
trends with issues and errors and notify Management
- Other duties as assigned
What you'll bring
- Education: Doctorate of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required
- Licenses : Current unrestricted license as a Registered
Pharmacist in the state of Ohio
- Clinical experience with Specialty medications in a variety of
settings strongly preferred
- Managed care pharmacy experience strongly preferred, including
relevant experience with health plans, PBMs, etc.
- Experience with assessment and/or application of pharmacy
benefits
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact
professionally with a diverse group including clinical staff,
non-clinical staff, members and providers
- Exceptional critical thinker with strong analytical skills
- Possess excellent time management skills
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to critically think through processes and work
collaboratively with team members
- Independent, organized, energetic, and compassionate
- Strong administrative/technical skills; Comfort working on a PC
using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), IM/video
conferencing (Teams & Zoom), and telephones efficiently.
