Key Responsibilities of the Project Accountant: Collaborate closely with project managers to ensure the financial and administrative accuracy of projects, including monthly invoicing aligned with contract requirements. Set up billing processes, track project progress, and handle project closeouts efficiently. Coordinate consultant invoices and payments in accordance with established agreements. Maintain and audit contract files, ensuring compliance with guidelines. Ensure project costs are accurately recorded; make necessary labor and expense adjustments. Review and process project budgets, vendor proposals, change orders, and invoices within the financial system. Professionally and promptly address inquiries from clients, consultants, and internal teams. Assist with month-end and year-end reporting and reconciliations to ensure accurate financial records. Preferred Qualifications of the Project Accountant: Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance. Experience in construction, design, or project cost accounting is a plus. AIA billing and/or prevailing wage experience is a plus.
