Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse (RN General, Dialysis, Mental Health) Specialty: Staff Augmentation Duration: 52 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM Experience: Minimum experience required License: Requires current licensure as a registered professional nurse in the state of Ohio as issued by the Board of Nursing. Certifications: Relevant nursing certifications as required. Must-Have: Knowledge of professional registered nursing procedures; knowledge of state and federal regulations, policies, and procedures related to nursing. Description: Provides professional nursing care to patients in a correctional facility. Observes, assesses, and records symptoms, reactions, and progress of patients. Makes nursing rounds and takes and records vital signs. Prepares and administers prescribed medications and treatment plans. Monitors patients on a timely basis and provides immediate medical attention to emergencies. Arranges transportation to emergency rooms when necessary and contacts staff physicians. Counsels patients regarding the need for medical referrals. Participates in staff development and education. Reviews care plans written by staff and trains and orients new employees. Organizes and oversees emergency response teams. Directs healthcare staff assigned to the area. Performs clerical tasks such as documenting medications, treatments, and patient information. Completes required reports and maintains inventory of supplies and controlled medications. Arranges clinic appointments and medical examinations. Serves as a liaison with others in the organization. Conducts and/or attends meetings and participates in problem-solving teams.
