They apply behavioral and biomedical science knowledge and techniques to prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation. Within their scope of practice, they perform psychosocial interventions with clients. They conduct individual, family, or group interventions such as counseling, testing, and client education. They develop intervention goals and objectives to educate clients and resolve their functioning problems. The provider participates in establishing, implementing, and evaluating treatment system goals and objectives. They interview clients and families to establish case goals and objectives. Assessing clients helps determine specific intervention techniques and monitor responses to treatment. They provide feedback on the effectiveness of prescribed treatment. The provider evaluates cases from lower-level behavioral healthcare providers and client progress related to treatment plans. Maintaining necessary data documents is essential to satisfy regulatory requirements. They prepare data, including social histories, admission summaries, court documents, and necessary forms. Servicing on treatment and program development teams is part of their responsibilities. They attend training meetings, intradepartmental meetings, and court hearings regularly. Establishing and maintaining working relationships with other facilities and agencies is crucial for referrals and follow-up. Knowledge of regulations, policies, procedures, and crisis intervention is required. Candidates should possess the ability to counsel on sensitive matters and proofread technical materials.
