The Assistant Nurse Manager provides clinical supervision and
coordinates unit clinical operations with other departmental
disciplines under the direction of the Nurse Manager. This leader
provides effective and efficient patient care to all ages on
assigned shifts or as otherwise designated. Additionally, this
caregiver assumes the responsibilities of the nurse manager in
his/her absence. A caregiver in this position works night shifts,
7:00PM – 7:30AM or 11:00pm – 7:30am (2-8 hour shifts, and 2-12 hour
shifts). A caregiver who excels in this role will: - Facilitate
communication and collaboration among unit staff and other
departments and units regarding issues related to patient care. -
Ensure continuity of patient care information between shifts,
coordinate patient admitting, discharges, transfers and other
operational issues. - Review major operational patient care issues
with Nurse Managers. - Provide ongoing clinical evaluations of
nurses and other direct and indirect patient care providers. -
Counsel employees on performance issues, administer initial
corrective actions and collaborate in monitoring attendance issues.
- Alert Nurse Manager of significant clinical or other performance
issues. - Participate in interviewing, selecting and appraising the
performance of employees. - Monitor the adherence to EEO/AAP goals
and guidelines. - Administer Nursing Institute, departmental and CC
policies and procedures. - Supervise and participate in the daily
delivery of patient care on assigned unit/area. - Prepare schedule
of work assignments, assuring adequate coverage on all shifts. -
Participate in and support quality improvement projects, outcome
studies and research initiatives. - Participate in department
groups and committees as assigned. - Assist in orienting new
personnel, continuing education and in-service educational
programs. Minimum qualifications for the ideal caregiver include: -
Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing -
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) - Current state licensure as a
Registered Nurse (RN) - Proof of Basic Life Support (BLS)
certification through American Heart Association (AHA) or American
Red Cross. Certification must be presented upon hire. - Two years
of recent clinical nurse experience - Demonstratable clinical
knowledge and skills; oral, written and interpersonal skills; and
strong analytical and organization skills Physical Requirements: -
Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and
eye-hand coordination. - Requires standing and walking for
extensive periods of time. - Requires corrected hearing and vision
to normal range. - Requires some exposure to communicable disease
or bodily fluids. - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force
occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or
greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move
objects. - Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for
Light Work. Personal Protective Equipment: - Follows standard
precautions using personal protective equipment as required. Pay
Range Minimum hourly: $37.50 Maximum hourly: $57.60 The pay range
displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for
new hires. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be
determined after taking factors into consideration such as the
candidate’s work history, experience, skill set and education. The
pay range displayed does not include any applicable pay practices
(e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.). The pay range does not
