Safely operate a tractor-trailer/truck to deliver goods and cargo to various destinations. Plan routes and meet delivery schedules; comply with truck driving rules and regulations. Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance. Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts. Report defects, accidents, or violations and manage unforeseen circumstances on the road. Coordinate with the dispatch team for smooth operations and timely deliveries. Maintain communication with dispatch using the proper equipment to report real-time status. Follow all appropriate traffic laws, safety guidelines, and company policies. Proficient in operating a commercial vehicle safely and efficiently. Strong time management and punctuality. Excellent organizational and route planning skills. Ability to maintain composure and make critical decisions under stress. Physical ability and stamina to handle the demands of long hours on the road. Effective communication skills.
